Terms of Service

Welcome to ReelSwap. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What ReelSwap Is & Eligibility

ReelSwap is a community platform for collectors of analog media (VHS, Betamax, Laserdisc, CED). The platform provides collection management, community price guidance based on publicly available market data, and peer-to-peer trade matching between collectors.

• Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, use this service, and enter into binding trades. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract.

2. Your Account

You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. One account per person. Do not share accounts or create multiple accounts.

3. Content You Upload & Intellectual Property

You may upload photos of physical media items in your collection. By uploading content, you grant ReelSwap a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and process that content for the purpose of operating the platform (thumbnails, 3D previews, texture maps, search indexing).

• Your Content: You retain ownership of your original photos. You may delete your uploads at any time by removing items from your collection.
• Platform Assets: Texture maps and 3D-ready assets generated by the ReelSwap Texture Archiver tool (including UV maps, thumbnails, and all derived outputs) are the exclusive property of Generation Loss LLC. These community-contributed archive textures are permanent assets and are not deleted when individual items or accounts are removed.
• Platform IP: All other code, branding, logos, and features of the ReelSwap platform are the intellectual property of Generation Loss LLC.

Do not upload content you do not have the right to share, content that is illegal, content containing pornographic imagery or nudity, or content unrelated to analog media collecting.

4. Pricing Information

ReelSwap displays averages of the current average asking price of live fixed price eBay listings through a publicly available API. These values are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute appraisals, guarantees of value, or financial advice. Actual sale prices may vary. ReelSwap makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of pricing data.

5. Trading & Assumption of Risk

ReelSwap operates strictly as an informational venue and matchmaking platform. We are not a party to any trade, transaction, or agreement made between users.

• ReelSwap does not handle, inspect, ship, or insure any physical items.
• You are solely responsible for the condition, shipping, and delivery of items you trade.
• ReelSwap is not responsible for trades that go wrong, items lost in shipping, misrepresented condition, or any disputes between users.
• Legal Compliance: Users are solely responsible for ensuring that the items they trade, and the shipping of those items, comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws. This includes, but is not limited to, obscenity laws, shipping carrier restrictions, and interstate commerce regulations. Generation Loss LLC assumes no responsibility or liability for a user's failure to comply with the laws of their own jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of their trading partner.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data or images from the platform.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or tools to interact with the platform.
• Misrepresent item condition, create fake listings, or manipulate pricing data.
• Harass, impersonate, or abuse other users.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or admin functions.
• Upload pornographic, nude, or sexually explicit imagery.
• Use the platform for any illegal purpose.
• Redistribute or commercially exploit data, images, or content from the platform without permission.

7. Rate Limiting and Access

ReelSwap enforces rate limits on API usage to protect the platform and its users. Accounts that exceed rate limits may be temporarily or permanently restricted. Automated access, scraping, or abuse of API endpoints is prohibited and may result in immediate account termination.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any reason at our sole discretion. You may request account deletion by contacting us at reelswapdotcom@gmail.com. Upon deletion, your personal data and user-uploaded photos will be removed. Archive texture maps generated through the Texture Archiver remain the property of Generation Loss LLC and will not be removed.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Generation Loss LLC, its members, managers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your interactions and trades with other users.

10. Limitation of Liability

ReelSwap is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Generation Loss LLC and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages arising from trades, in-person meetings, or disputes between users.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and the parties hereby consent to personal jurisdiction and venue therein.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the platform and may require you to re-accept the updated terms to continue using the service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
